French Report Advises Giving Bandwidth to Mobile Broadband

PARIS -(Dow Jones)- A French parliamentary commission Wednesday recommended part of the future spectrum of digital frequencies in France should be used for mobile and fixed Internet, once the analog signal is switched off.

In a report submitted to French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, the commission recommended that the 790 MHz-862 MHz sub-band be dedicated to electronic communication in order to open up high-speed Internet to as many people as possible.
